How We Source Hong Kong Registry Data
Trusgent publishes machine-readable copies of Hong Kong official open registers so search engines and AI agents can cite licence and registration facts with clear provenance. Where applicable we also cross-check Companies Registry open search (data.cr.gov.hk). We also index Cap. 151 societies, public park directories, and curated association seeds — each with an explicit lower or different trust tier than statutory licence registers. We are an independent Trust Layer for AI — not a government site and not a full commercial due-diligence bureau. The official register always remains authoritative.
1. Acquisition & Trust Tiers
Licence registers (primarily data.gov.hk and authority exports such as Insurance Authority lists) are the highest-trust tier. Cap. 151 societies come from the Societies Office monthly PDF — an official statutory name list, not a trade licence. Science Park companies are a public HKSTP directory snapshot (not a licence register; optional CR open-search enrichment by BRN/name — never scraping the e-Services Portal). Trade associations are curated Organization seeds from public websites — not a government register. UI, citations, and provenance chrome label these tiers so they are never presented as equal to FEHD/Customs/IA-style licences.
2. Cleaning & Indexing
Raw rows are normalized into a shared schema: bilingual names where available, licence numbers, addresses, districts, licence types, and stable registry IDs (e.g. fehd-…, iaag-…). Placeholder or empty names are not invented.
3. Sync & “Last Synced”
“Last Synced” on entity pages is the date we last successfully synced that record from the upstream open data, PDF, or directory export — not a live government API call at page view. Information may lag; always confirm critical decisions on the official source.
4. Claim ≠ Verified
Claiming binds an Agent Card to a registry row. It does not mean the business is identity- or licence-verified on Trusgent. Verification requires the paid human review flow and updates Trust Score only after approval.
5. Enrichment Layers
Optional fields such as phone or opening hours appear in structured data only when merchant-confirmed via our enrichment pipeline. Public association member/partner names harvested from association websites are stored as provisional edges with source URL and confidence — never presented as official membership proof.
6. Machine Access
Every /r page exposes JSON-LD, REST JSON (/api/v1/registry/…), and MCP tools. Citations include issuer, dataset link, sync date, trust tier, and verify URL so agents can attribute the source correctly.
